According to a report by the Ministry of Finance's Occupational Safety Department, occupational safety inspections affected 14,298 employers in 2018. The inspections covered compliance with rules on safe working practices that do not pose a health risk.<\/p>\n\n\n

The authority found occupational safety irregularities in 72.81% of the employees inspected. During the inspections, the working conditions of 309,319 employees were examined. Irregularities were found in 67.2% of the employees inspected, i.e. 207,965 people. Of the employees working in irregular conditions, 24.81% were affected by serious irregularities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most common omissions included the lack of numerous occupational safety documents, such as regulations on the provision of personal protective equipment, risk assessment and evaluation documents, and documentation of medical fitness examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the inspections, a total of 18,322 occupational safety decisions were made, of which 7,927 required immediate action and 9,845 required the elimination of deficiencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, sanctions were imposed in 401 cases for occupational safety violations, in 117 cases for administrative violations, and in 32 cases for procedural violations. The total amount of fines was HUF 129,236,350 for occupational safety violations, HUF 2,976,000 for administrative violations, and HUF 2,370,000 for procedural violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 73,822 measures were taken in administrative decisions. Of the measures contained in these decisions, 25,403 were related to occupational safety, 8,245 to occupational health, and 40,174 to occupational safety. In 2018, the occupational safety authorities carried out a total of 1,020 follow-up inspections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the above figures, all employers should be prepared for a possible inspection by the occupational safety authorities.
