Postponement of occupational safety inspections
Government Decree 177/2020 (V. 4.) issued for the emergency period provides as follows for the postponement of certain periodic occupational safety reviews, the extension of the medical validity of operator licenses required for work, and the postponement of certain periodic reviews.
Postponement of periodic occupational safety reviews and extension of the medical validity of operator licenses required for work
After the emergency situation has ended Periodic inspections for occupational safety purposes may be postponed until the 60th day.
a) as defined in Section 23(1) of Act XCIII of 1993 on occupational safety and health periodic safety inspection of dangerous work equipment,
b) the minimum safety and health requirements for work equipment and its use specified in Section 17 and Section 18(1) of Decree 10/2016. (IV. 5.) NGM (hereinafter: Decree 10/2016 NGM) Periodic inspection of non-hazardous work equipment
c) in the case of electrical equipment, Decree 10/2016. NGM
ca) inspection by a technician pursuant to Section 19(2),
cb) standardization review pursuant to Section 19(3),
cc) periodic inspection by a mechanic in accordance with Section 19(6),
cd) periodic inspection review in accordance with Section 19(7),
d) the Lifting Equipment Safety Regulations on the issuance of 47/1999. (VIII. 4.) GM Decree Annex I, Chapter 7.2.7. hoisting machine structural and main inspection,
e) the Welding Safety Regulations Decree 143/2004 (XII. 22.) GKM on the publication of Annex 8.1. Periodic inspection of welding equipment and safety fittings.
During an emergency situation, expiring during work The medical validity of operator licenses required for certain activities will be extended until the 60th day after the end of the emergency.
Regulations concerning the different application of periodic inspection and maintenance obligations for certain technical equipment, devices, and structures during emergency situations
During an emergency situation, if their implementation encounters disproportionate difficulties due to circumstances arising from the existing emergency situation, Decree 54/2014 (XII. 5.) BM on National Fire Safety Regulations The periodic review and maintenance of the technical solutions specified in Table 1 of Annex 18 shall not be carried out.

When applying the above, operator checks shall be carried out – if legislation stipulates a longer period for its implementation – must be performed at least once a month.
The above-mentioned concessions valid during the emergency period do not apply to the obligation specified in the legislation relating to the troubleshooting, repair, and continuous maintenance of the technical equipment, devices, and structures concerned.
The party responsible for performing the overdue periodic inspection and maintenance must take action within 30 days of the end of the emergency situation, providing documented evidence of this.
